Absorptive Panels
IAC sound absorptive panels control noise and reduce distracting echo or reverberation effects inside buildings. Sound absorptive panels from IAC are laboratory tested and can reduce noise levels by up to 10dB. They create an acoustically softer, more pleasant environment and improve speech clarity within existing spaces.
IAC Varitone Sound Absorptive Panels are manufactured from rugged, abuse resistant and fire resistant 0.76mm galvanised steel, which are quick and easy to install. They can be ceiling or wall mounted and they are available in standard thicknesses of 50mm or 100mm and in lengths up to 3600mm.
Varitone panels are available in a wide range of attractive finishes - including PPC and vinyl - that are both hardwearing and easy to clean.
IAC offers a full acoustical evaluation service to determine the correct position, size and quantity of panels needed to achieve effective reverberation control in any given environment.
All of our IAC absorptive panels are made to order in our own manufacturing facility based at our European Headquarters in Winchester, Hampshire, UK.

Construction and Panel Size
Sound-absorbing Varitone modules are available in standard thicknesses of 50mm or 100mm and standard widths of 450mm (50mm thick panel) or 360mm (100mm thick panel). Standard lengths range from 915mm to 3660mm. IAC also designs and manufactures special (non-standard) panels to suit all types of applications. If you have a special requirement, please contact a member of our Building Services Team to discuss your needs.
Each sound-absorbing module is manufactured form rugged, abuse-resistant 0.76mm perforated galvanised steel with an open area of 23%. Each module contains incombustible inert, mildew-resistant and vermin proof acoustically absorbent infill.
Finishes
Varitone modules have standard finishes of galvanised steel and polyester powder coat (PPC). Other finishes, such as vinyl-coated steel, are also available on request.

*NRC stands for Noise Reduction Coefficient and is the average of the 250, 500, 1000, 2000 Hz coefficients. It is a single number indicator of relative absorption values. Coefficients greater than 1.0 result from diffraction effects associated with limited sample size (ASTM C423-90a - 6.69m2). For most applications, a maximum coefficient of 0.95 is recommended for noise reduction calculations.
NOTE: The above absorption measurements are based upon ASTM C423-90a test procedure. Certified laboratory test reports are available upon request. |
