Bespoke Air Handling Units (AHUs)
 IAC designs, manufactures and installs bespoke on-floor acoustically rated Air Handling Units (AHUs). IAC on-floor air handling units (AHUs) are up to 15dB quieter than conventional AHUs. They can incorporate axial, mixed flow and plug fans, and have highly sound-absorptive acoustic louvres housings with high-performance Noise-Lock® doors and access floors.
IAC is the UK’s leading provider of custom-engineered AHUs. Our AHUs are the best choice for a ‘new build’ and high-rise commercial buildings. In simple terms, our AHUs provide quiet air handling.
The airflow inside a mechanical equipment room is typically 17m³/s – with a noise rating of NR60. However, with a Quiet-Flow Unit in place the sound levels in adjoining offices are typically between NR35 – NR38. This provides a quiet working space for employees.
IAC’s purpose built UK manufacturing and assembly plant will accommodate small or large production runs. AHU assembly can occur either in dedicated areas at IAC’s Winchester factory, adjacent to job sites or for overseas projects, IAC can incorporate locally manufactured components. Our service includes the delivery, offloading, positioning, installing and commissioning of most AHUs.

Proven Certified Performance
IAC routinely evaluates all new designs of AHUs in its own, full-scale test facilities, frequently in front of independent witnesses. Performance is assessed using a mechanical equipment room (MER) and adjacent office area, separated by walls of dryline construction, and project specific ducting with return air path. The office has a false ceiling.
This configuration allows several important performance parameters to be measured accurately under ‘real life’ conditions, and with the test unit operating at different duties. Test parameters include airflow, pressure drop, absorbed electrical power and noise levels in both the MER and office area.

Canary Wharf
 London’s 86 acre Canary Wharf development provides over 10 million square feet (approx 930,000m2) of high specification office and retail space and is one of the largest commercial building projects in the capital’s history. IAC’s participation in Canary Wharf extends over several years and consists of the design, testing, manufacture, assembly, delivery and installation of over 300 low-noise, on-floor, packaged air handling units for six separate buildings on the estate.
IAC’s involvement in the project as a leading trade contractor is on-going thanks to its proven ability to hit delivery deadlines and interface coherently and flexibly with other members of the design/construction team.
