London’s 5 star Connaught Hotel chooses louvres from noise control leader IAC

London’s recently-refurbished five star Connaught Hotel is to receive further bespoke louvre screens from the world’s leader in noise control, IAC.

IAC has been awarded Phase 2 of the works as part of the hotel’s multimillion pound refurbishment and development programme. IAC completed Phase 1 eighteen months ago.

This bespoke noise attenuation solution is for the M&E services of a new-build extension to the rear of the hotel to accommodate further luxury bedrooms and function suites. IAC will supply the large louvre screen installation for the rooftop plant which is to accommodate a suite of chillers, AHUs and condensers.

IAC has been commissioned for the project by long-established contractors, Ellmer Construction, specialists in high quality fit out, refurbishment and new developments across London and the Home Counties for over 130 years.

Situated in the heart of Mayfair, the Connaught has been the epitome of elegance since it was built in 1897 and is named after one of Queen Victoria’s sons. Their website says: “Now phase one is fundamentally complete, having taken over eighteen months of working to an intensively hands-on programme, involving the specialised skills and knowledge of experts in building, design, architecture and period restoration from around the world.”

Andy Hetherington, IAC Technical Sales Manager Building Services said: “As a ‘five star’ noise control provider we are delighted to be working with Ellmers at one of the world’s top five star hotels."
