Euro-Diesel commissions IAC Boet Stopson for their R&D test cells

IAC Boet Stopson has recently won a major contract from Euro-Diesel in Grace-Hollogne in Belgium for the supply of fourteen Engine Exhaust Silencers. The IAC silencers for the UPS production located in their Belgium plant, will both protect their employees and neighbours from noise nuisance.

These are destined for the test benches of Euro-Diesel’s world-leading Uninterruptible Power Supply systems (UPS). The protection of power supply is increasingly critical in many settings today including hospitals, telecommunications and ISPs. A interruption of supply of as little as a millisecond can mean losses of millions of dollars, or worse, human lives.

Aside from their headquarters in Grace-Hollogne, Euro-Diesel has subsidiaries in the USA, Germany, France and Singapore. It has been manufacturing and installing UPS No-Break KS® systems for more than 20 years throughout the world.

The bespoke reactive silencers provided by IAC Boet Stopson are made of carbon steel and measure 6m long, with a diameter of 1.2m. These will be fitted to the 14 test cells, each handling 2,850 kW. In line with Euro-Diesel’s requirements, these silencers have been designed to deliver acoustic performance to the tune of 55 dB(A) at 30 metres.

The extensive acoustical expertise and experience of IAC Boet Stopson as European leader was a key element in securing this significant contract.
