Global giant IAC completes anechoic test chamber for Volvo

IAC has completed the supply and installation of the acoustic equipment for Volvo Car’s new Vehicle Semi-Anechoic Chamber in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Leading global specialist in the design, manufacture and installation of anechoic test chambers, IAC has a long relationship with Volvo and with many of the world’s leading automotive manufacturers, OEMs and test houses.

This chamber measures 19m x 13m and 5.3m high with a 60Hz cut-off. Metadyne™ 1400mm LF anechoic wedges – patented IAC technology – line the chamber and give proven guaranteed acoustic performance along with superior fire and impact resistance. Easy maintenance and long life, they can also be painted with accent corporate colours.

All IAC anechoic test facilities exhibit technical and environmental compliance with international standards, including ISO 3745 and ISO 3744. A global turnkey service is offered, from manufacturing plants on 3 continents.

Graham Dale, Global Test Facilities Manager, said: “The advent of IAC China last year makes us now truly global. Having our own manufacturing plant in China means that we are now better able to serve clients in the Far East and Australia. Certainly, automotive manufacturers investing in R&D now will come out on top after the global downturn.”
