IAC perfects state-of-the-art government research establishment
The Institute of Animal Health’s new research centre at Pirbright in Surrey is to benefit from noise control solutions from world leader IAC Limited.
The Institute is the largest research institute in the United Kingdom dedicated to the health of farm animals focusing on prevention methods for infectious diseases such as BSE and Foot and Mouth. Their redevelopment project commenced in 2004 and when complete will be a world class facility for what is a world-leading research organisation.
The M & E consultants on the project commissioned IAC’s Building Services division to supply Inlet and Exhaust Silencers for the site following their successful provision of a similar solutions for their first building in 2004. This, the second of 12 state-of-the-art facilities planned for the Institute, is a single-storey building served by plant and Air Handling Units located on the mezzanine deck. The IAC silencers will be used in this plant building.
Gary Dawson, Building Services Manager, said: "Aside from the acoustical spec on this project, the aesthetic specification was also stringent. The silencers will extend up beyond the roofline and are being fabricated in polished stainless steel. As such they will form a striking architectural feature to the overall building." There were similar requirements for the first project IAC completed in 2004 – seen in the image alongside.
The project is due for completion at the end of December. For more information on the full range of IAC silencers visit www.iacbuildingservices.co.uk or contact Gary Dawson on 01962 873059 or garyd@iacl.co.uk
