IAC CUTS £0.8m-WORTH
OF NOISE
 With
anti-noise legislation on the increase, the demand for effective noise
control solutions is growing fast. So far this year, Industrial Acoustics
Company (IAC) a world leader in noise control, has secured new business
worth over £0.8M from five projects in the reciprocating power generation
market. The contracts reflect the breadth of IAC’s product offering
and the range of applications of their proven and cost effective noise
control technology.
Prague: noise control for four CAT 2500kVa Gensets is
being provided by IAC Q-duct silencers and Varitone lining system
Scotland: noise from four generator sets at a waste management
site is being contained by acoustic cells constructed using IAC’s
own Moduline panel system
Cambridge: patients in Addenbrookes hospital will now
be protected from noise from the two 1500kVA stand-by generators in a
generator room below the ward. The solution comprises IAC enclosures and
a high-performance, Moduline acoustic ceiling.
Heathrow vicinity: a data centre is benefiting from full
enclosure of two CAT 3516 generator sets, each rated at 2000kVA. This
is a turnkey project including installation of the generator, cooling
and exhaust systems.
London: noise generated by a standby generator being
utilised by the Metropolitan Police in a heavily populated area of London
it to get the IAC treatment. The contract comes in response to the very
stringent noise criteria set by the local authorities in the area.

expanded Industrial Division, said: “From where I stand, market
information and indicators suggest that this sector is about to show significant
growth both in the UK and in mainland Europe. At IAC we have a further
£3.4m-worth of quotations out there at the moment which augurs well
for the year ahead. Having expanded our product range over the past 18
months IAC is ideally placed to capitalise on the burgeoning market.”
