Second phase Barrier Wall for data centre at Redhill, Surrey
 IAC is providing a second phase to a barrier wall for a major Data Centre in Redhill, Surrey that the company erected in 2009. This time round IAC is also providing all the steel columns for the barrier construction.
The barrier wall noise control solution will protect the Centre’s neighbouring community from noise from chillers and containerised generators.
The chillers are on a raised open gird mezzanine, with the generators - supplied in containers - lined up alongside them. Whilst this keeps the height of the plant area to a minimum, it does require a larger footprint.
The 8m-high louvre screen was installed on both sides back in 2009, and IAC is now building up to the existing louvres all along one side – to a length of approximately 100m long plus an additional 22m section returning to the main building.
Nine louvred sections within the wall, each 3.75m wide x 4.35m high will line up with the intake silencers on the back up generators, and the 5 1.0m x 0.75m acoustic hatches will enable access to the fuel filler cabinet. Two double-leaf acoustic doors are also part of the supply, both providing a clear opening of 2.59m wide x 3.16m high.

This project at Redhill is such a turnkey package in that IAC is providing the steel columns, bracing and below ground stub columns, albeit with the below ground works and fitting of stub columns being delivered by other providers. In addition to the supply and installation of the acoustic panels and louvers, IAC is also supplying and erecting around 25 tonnes of steel structure.
The project is due for completion shortly.
