Hearing Screening for Industry

Audiology Screening Booths

Health & Safety officers with responsibility for employees in noisy industrial environments know that the 2005 Control of Noise Regulations made screening audiometry compulsory from 6 April 2006.

Manufacturers are required by law to detect any early damage to hearing resulting from exposure to noise above 85dB(A) and for susceptible individuals down to 80dB(A).

All IAC’s sound proof audiology booths comply with ISO 6189 for Hearing Screening and are designed to accommodate the latest audiometers.

Claims for noise-induced hearing loss are also one of the most common occupational health (compensation) claims and audiometry helps reduce the numbers of claims.

IAC is ideally placed to help manufacturers keep one step ahead by providing Hearing Screening booths within which the testing can be undertaken.

We have almost 30 Standard Hearing Test Booth designs available, offering different sizes and configurations

3 popular acoustic booths

IAC 250 Series Mini Sound Shelter

Our most popular booth for hearing screening is the IAC 250 Series Mini Sound Shelter – an upgraded model introduced in 2008. The smallest in the range, it is available from stock, is fully compliant with BS EN ISO 26189 and can be supplied fully assembled or in ‘kit’ form.

Compact and on castors, the booth is fully mobile and passes easily through a standard doorway. With its new curved design, silent ventilation system, maintenance free internal LED lighting, moulded integral seat, foldable shelf and stainless steel jack panel (for connection to the audiometer) it is ready to use within minutes of delivery.

IAC 401-A-SE Hearing Test Booth is a compact, single-wall standard audiology Booth with the door and window within the front face wall

IAC 1201-A Hearing Test Booth is a standard double-wall audiology booth with a structurally-isolated inner room, offering a ‘high’ level of attenuation for particularly noisy environments.

Factory noise attenuation

With our wide range of noise control products and services, IAC also provides noise attenuation solutions for the workers’ factory environments. By reducing ambient noise levels workers’ hearing is protected. These include enclosures, baffles and sound havens. The same Regulations require that a noise assessment or noise survey be carried out – at which point IAC can advise on which of their noise reduction products can solve the problem(s) identified.
