IAC handled the project well from beginning to end with great communications with the department at all times. Overall it was a challenging job given the crescent shape of the department and the fact that several supporting pillars in the space could not be moved. Despite these constraints, IAC did a great job and on time and within budget. It is badly needed as we have growing numbers of patients: elderly people referred by GPs and ENT clinics for hearing aid related services, and … with the Universal Neonatal Hearing Screening directives, we need a facility able to accommodate more families and their babies. All of us in the team are particularly looking forward to having a smart and comfortable working environment. It will make a huge difference on a day-to-day basis. Dr Alyson Bumby, Consultant Audiological Physician, heads the Audiology team of eight. .. the hospital has been undergoing a full rebuild as part of a PFI redevelopment. This new Audiology suite is being constructed in the newish ACAD building and I know the clinical team is looking forward to this move from older facilities to new.
