ANOTHER STRATEGIC ACQUISITION FOR IAC IN AUSTRALIA

IAC’s Australia noise control specialist IAC Colpro Pty Ltd. has today announced it has completed the acquisition of 100% of the shares of the Sydney-based commercial noise control companies Acoustic Systems Pty Ltd. and Sound Attenuators Australia Pty Ltd (SAA).

Acoustic Systems and SAA are among the leading designers and manufacturers of noise control products for the commercial building industry in New South Wales.

“We are delighted to be entering this new phase of our Australasia expansion,” Group President and CEO of IAC, Brian Quarendon commented. “Our three businesses are an exceptionally good fit with hardly any overlap of the markets that IAC currently addresses in Australia and with the skills and knowledge of the Acoustic Systems and SAA team they will be able to accelerate the introduction of the complementary IAC building services products into Australia.”

Established in 1994, Acoustic Systems specialises in the analysis, design, manufacture and installation of industrial and commercial noise control equipment. The products and services of SAA were incorporated into the business in 2005 and added a significant range of equipment for the air conditioning and mechanical services industries.

The 3 businesses are soon to be operating from new combined 3,600 sq m industrial premises in Smithfield, New South Wales. Currently the premises are being upgraded to provide 900 sq m of modern office accommodation for the sales, project management and design team. While the factory space is being laid out with new craneage and fabrication space to meet the demands of our customers increased volumes and to provide space to manufacture and distribute the complete IAC product range throughout Australasia.
