The base control module of all lAC Global Aviation mobile aero-engine test facilities is a trailer-based system. This can accommodate a variety of test stands for full performance testing of various engine types.

Mobile Engine Test Facility (METS)

The Lockheed C-130 Hercules is one of the most versatile and popular military aircraft in use throughout the world. IAC Global Aviation designs and manufactures Mobile Aero-Engine Test Facilities that provides a unique and practical solution to improve the operational effectiveness of C-130 aircraft engines.

The main components of the METS facility are:

  • Hydraulic Engine Positioning System that offers a simple delivery method of the engine QEC module to the METS directly from the transport trolley at ground level
  • 4,000 litre fuel module that connects to the METS via a single flexible fuel hose and power cable
  • Control Room / Operator Cabin that provides operators with a safe, quiet air conditioned environment
  • Aquarius Data Acquisition System that provides a real-time, full-colour data processing and display of over 200 engine parameters simultaneously

The METS has two transportation modules: the Control Cabin and the Engine Test Facility. Its compact overall design makes for easy transportation, fitting comfortably onto a standard trailer or as a container style load. Weighing around 10 tons it also fits easily within the cargo bay of a C-130 aircraft.
