Noisy Building Chillers
Market sector:
Information Technology (IT)
Location:
Data Centre in central London providing internet services
The brief:
Reduce excessive noise emissions from the chillers that serve the air conditioning systems.
Prevent noise nuisance from the chillers interfering with the local residents and businesses.
The previous solid roof top noise control measures were causing the chillers to overheat and breakdown. As a result, the client and their customers suffered interruptions to their internet service. The situation is worse during hot summer days. The solution must include measures to prevent plant from overheating.
The solution:
IAC designed and installed a 130m-long-acoustic louvre screen that allowed sufficient airflow for cooling of the plant. This solution delivered excellent noise attenuation performance in line with the customer’s expectation.
