Quiet-Vent® Attenuators
IAC’s Quiet-Vent® duct attenuators solve a common problem in air handling: the passage of noise from one space to another through vents provided for the passage of air. Quiet-Vent® silencers are the ideal solution for situations where air must pass but noise blocked. These modern, low-cost units are easy to install, permit circulation of air in either direction, yet effectively stop noise in both directions.
IAC Quiet-Vent® duct attenuators are versatile units with installation options that include:
- in or on walls
- on doors
- in ceilings
IAC has been manufacturing Quiet-Vent® attenuators for over 50 years, installing thousands of units each year. All IAC Quiet-Vent® duct attenuators provide guaranteed acoustic performance. We offer a wide range of Quiet-Vent® duct attenuators, however, if you have a special requirement, please contact our Building Services Team.
Quiet-Vent® Range of Products
IAC manufactures and supplies many different types of Quiet-Vent® duct silencers for situations where air must pass but noise blocked. Our range of Quiet-Vent® products include:
- Multi-Purpose - Types C, H & W: The design of this duct silencer is specifically for installation on walls, in walls, on doors, or in ceilings. They meet most architectural needs in the standard models available, special designs are available on request.

- Tile Ceilings - Type CT: The design of this type of duct attenuator is specifically to replace a ceiling tile over movable walls or fixed partitions. It will replace a 610mm x 610mm or 305mm x 610mm ceiling tile and fits into all standard ceiling suspension systems. The CT silencer is easy to move and relocate in walls or partitions.

- Vent Shafts - Type S: The design of this duct silencer is specifically for vent shaft installations in apartments, hotels or similar structures to silence the noise from kitchens, bathrooms or toilets. Stale, noxious air passes through the Quiet-Vent® from each room served by the common shaft and is vented outside the building.

The acoustical construction of the Type S unit blocks noise from passing into the shaft and areas connected to it; however, it permits the passage of exhaust air. The duct attenuator also prevents exhaust fan noise from entering the rooms served by the vent shaft. Type S thus stops undesired cross talk and intercom effects.
