Case History CHORLTON HIGH SCHOOL, Greater Manchester Following a complaint by teachers to Manchester City Council about over-heating and mugginess, Classvent was installed as a trial in one classroom. Temperatures and CO2 levels were monitored and compared with those of an adjacent classroom in which the original natural ventilation system remained.
Classvent mechanical ventilation system was proven to hold CO2 levels below the stipulated 1,500ppm guideline levels. Data for the naturally-ventilated adjacent classroom were taken in August with the windows open. CO2 levels would rise even further in winter, with windows closed. Following this trial, further schools in the area opted to install the system under the Manchester Building Schools for the Future initiative.
