IAC Nordic Reduces Factory Noise For Top Manufacturer

Logstor, a leading European manufacturer of pre-insulated pipes, has improved the working environment for its factory operatives through a noise reduction solution from IAC Nordic. From their base in Denmark IAC Nordic serves Scandinavia and the Low Countries with noise control products and services.

Logstor’s pipes are used worldwide in heating and cooling systems. Their principal markets include oil and gas energy markets and marine industries where the pipes transport oil, gas and chemicals.

Committed to a stringent corporate environmental policy, Logstor committed this year to create a safer and more pleasant working environment on their shop floor. Their overall aim was to reduce general noise levels as well as reduce the noise locally at a number of specific workstations.

IAC Nordic designed and installed a range of noise reduction solutions. These included fixed interior absorbent barriers; sound absorptive wall panels; moveable noise barriers; automatic-opening enclosures and fixed enclosures. Helle Thomsen, Jutland Sales Manager said: “We have obtained general noise reduction in the order of between 8-10 dB in many working areas around the factory. Quite a number of workers no longer need to wear hearing protection.”

“We were very pleased with IAC Nordic’s input throughout. They attended our early meetings with our Health & Safety consultant and so were able to develop a noise control solution wholly in line with Danish legislation,” said Torben Fruehoej, Logstor’s Health and Safety Manager.

IAC Nordic is now preparing to deliver similar solutions at other Logstor factories in neighbouring countries.
