London West Data Centre benefits from IAC environmental solution
IAC is supplying a bespoke Acoustic Screen to a large industrial facility on an industrial estate in Surrey as part of a refurbishment programme to accommodate one of Europe’s financial services giants.
The emergency generator plant required to power the London West Data Centre in the event of a power outage is extensive as are potential noise emissions. In order to protect neighbouring offices and light industrial units on the estate from noise from the building’s power and chiller plant, IAC is to supply and install a steel acoustic screen comprising 1,000 sq metres of bespoke 50mm-thick acoustic steel panels. The panels will be supplied to site as 3-metre wide sections in a standard paint finish. IAC will undertake full on-site installation of all the panels including all trim angles and doors. The project is due for completion July 2007.
Ray Athill is Project Manager for Lakesmere, specialist contractor for the Data Centre project. Lakesmere are leaders in the provision of external building envelope packages including roofs, walls and glazing. “IAC were the natural choice for this element of the project given the acoustic requirements and the proven performance that their acoustic screens deliver.”
