![]() IAC EXPANDS WITH ACQUISITION OF SOUND ATTENUATORS' ASSETS Winchester-based IAC Ltd, Europe's largest acoustics engineering and noise control products manufacturer, has announced that it has acquired certain assets of Sound Attenuators Ltd (SAL). The key area of acquisition is SAL's gas turbine business, covering the provision of complete gas turbine silencing packages for power generation, CHP, gas compression and fluid pumping. The packages include combustion and vent intakes, turbine and auxiliary unit enclosures, and vent and hot gas exhausts. Brian Quarendon, Managing Director of IAC Ltd, says of the acquisition: "The combination of IAC's experience in engine noise control and SAL's expertise in gas turbine packaging enables us to provide an unequalled, world class service to customers in the gas turbine market". The engineering and sales teams of the newly acquired IAC business unit will remain at their current location in Colchester. However, production will be undertaken at IAC's modern factory facilities in Winchester. In addition to the gas turbine assets, IAC has acquired the rights to all of SAL's other product designs and licence agreements. IAC has also recruited SAL's general acoustics sales team, which has a combined experience of over 60 years in noise control products and applications. "What all of this adds up to" says Geoff Crowhurst, Director of IAC's Acoustics Division, "is a larger, stronger and more responsive UK sales operation selling IAC acoustic solutions and noise control products. It also helps us to grow our overseas representative network and licensing capability". |
