In-line Silencers
Controlling noise pollution from intake and exhaust systems on vacuum pumps, booster pumps, compressors, and pressurised fluid transportation networks – such as pipelines etc. - is a priority for many organisations. It is essential that all process plant applications have the required noise control measures in place that ensures the facility meets with the relevant noise criterion.

Our in-line silencers are either based on the absorption or reactive/wave phase shift design and satisfy the European Directive DESP 97/23 CE Pressurised Equipment Directive (PED).
IAC will carry out a full assessment to determine the risk category and the corresponding regulatory requirements to ensure the design, manufacturing, inspection, and marking stages i.e., Complies with Europe (CE) marking, testing to product compliance with the directive’s requirements, is mandatory and is correct. The design also takes into consideration manufacturing codes such as ASME, CODAP, CODETI, RCCM.

IAC offers a full consultative review of your system. Noise reduction range and installation options include:
- Noise reduction offered range from 15dB(A) to 40dB(A)
- Our in-line silencers can be placed in a horizontal or vertical position depending on the space available and the layout of the piping
- Our engineers can advise you on the optimum position of the in-line silencer
Options Available
Available options for IAC in-line silencers include:
- Special materials - Low-temperature steel, stainless steel etc.
- Lagging/Cladding - fibreglass, high-temperature polyurethane foam, 434 stainless steel wool, food-quality polyurethane foam
- Custom designed supports including flanges, gaskets, nuts/bolts etc.
- Oil/Water separator
- Special exterior protection and custom finish
