IAC shines at AES show
Bronx, NY (November 4)--“The turn-out at the Audio Engineering Society Convention was the best that we have seen in years,” said Craig D’Anna, Business Manager of the Architectural team at leading studio manufacturer IAC America, following the company’s most successful Show to date.
The IAC stand had far more visitors than in previous years, and all in relevant roles.
The 127th AES Convention took place at the Jacob Javits Center in New York last month. The largest gathering of audio professionals and enthusiasts on the globe, it attracts delegates from over 100 countries worldwide.
Everyone from consultants, studio designers and end-users at the Show was inquiring about IAC products and applications. Compared with previous years there was a greater interest in Studio Construction especially in Modular Construction.
The interest was also boosted by offering a Technical Tour of the IAC America facility on the Saturday afternoon. The Shop, Lab and Office crew demonstrated shop capabilities, and in the lab performed TL demonstrations, as well as showcasing the company’s AccuTone2 Modular Studios.
The Studios demonstration proved the highlight of the Tour, including a tour of a Control Room and a Live Room environment. The modular rooms were a real show stopper - with speakers, CD player and acoustic treatments by WSDG & RPG. There were two adjoining single-wall rooms where IAC was able to achieve noise isolation of NIC 70 from room to room and NIC 50 from room to corridor. There were also visual displays set up in both rooms to show the relative noise-levels. After a quick round-up from President, Ken DeLasho the group headed to another IAC-sponsored event at KMA Studios in downtown Manhattan.
KMA Studios already have an IAC modular studio, fitted a couple of years ago. It was at this studio that FM Designs (the studio designer), Quietstar (NY technical sales rep) and IAC, co-sponsored a corporate entertainment event to stimulate new business. Guests and industry peers from construction, design and from among end users attended, to learn about the benefits of our AccuTone2 Modular Studios. It was hugely successful.
Louis Manno, Chairman of the AES Technical Tours, stated in a letter to Craig D’Anna, “My heartiest congratulations to you and your associates for making possible one of the best Technical Tour slates in the sixty-one year history of the Audio Engineering Society.” He further stated: “On behalf of the 127th Audio Engineering Society’s convention committee, may I express our deep gratitude for the integral part you played in making the Tech Tours such a success, and their visit to New York City a memory many will cherish for years to come.”
