IAC expands into Australia with the acquisition of Colpro
 Bronx, NY (October 1) – IAC has long set its sights on having an Australian operation and on 1st October the group announced the acquisition of 100% of the shares of the Sydney, Australia-based noise control company Colpro Engineering (Australia) Pty.
Colpro is the leading designer and manufacturer of high performance silencers, acoustics, exhaust systems and thermal insulation blankets for the marine, mining and transport industries in Australia.
Group President and CEO, Brian Quarendon, said that the Colpro acquisition will offer tangible benefits to many customers throughout the Pacific Rim. He explains: “The product ranges of the two businesses are highly complementary and by combining the two companies’ pretty impressive portfolio of products, all of which have been thoroughly tested and proven will increase product choice and standards of service to customers in Australasia. Also noise legislation and product specification vary tremendously from one nation to another and customers in Australia want advice from trained, experienced engineers who are familiar with the local market. Now IAC can provide this effectively.”
