IAC America And Lawrence Hall Are Building A Better Community

Bronx, NY (December 18) -- An IAC Noishield® Roof Sound BarrierSystems has been installed for Lawrence Hall Youth Services in Chicago to protect the local communities from noise from the air conditioners, pumps, compressors and fans.

Lawrence Hall Youth Services is a non-profit child welfare agency designed to improve the community by developing the self worth, knowledge and skills of their youth to lead independent and productive lives. Together IAC and Lawrence Hall are making the community a better place.

IAC Noishield® Roof-Top Barrier Systems are designed and pre-engineered to include structural steel and support systems. The panels are 5” thick and sound absorptive on one side. The panels are factory finished using a polyester powder coating for weather protection in exterior applications and are available in over 100 colors. The light-weight panels are two-foot high and stack vertically to achieve any height and configuration.

The roof-top barrier includes more than 50 individual panels which can be removed for access to major equipment. The system also included an IAC Noise-Lock® door for periodic access to the equipment for maintenance purposes.

The project was successfully completed on time and within budget, through effective management and field coordination of the three parties: the structural steel provider; the IAC Technical Representative, Mr. Terry Abell of O’Neill Engineered Systems; and the Acoustic Treatments Group within the IAC Architectural Products team.
