Bronx, NY (December 9)--Interviews with Financial Times experts will be more frequently screened on its website www.ft.com thanks to a custom-designed video recording studio from IAC that has recently been installed in their London headquarters.
The studio comprises a studio with four remote-control cameras and a state-of-the-art editing suite. It is located within the FT’s premises beside Southwark Bridge on the south bank of the Thames. Purpose-designed utilising IAC’s patented ‘Moduline’ modular construction system, it has two window walls looking out north-east across the river. These effectively provide a ‘live’ backdrop for interviews that are filmed within it of the dramatic City of London skyline.
IAC’s scope of supply includes high performance acoustic walls to create the studio, control room and plant room; acoustic doors of STC 51 & STC 61 performance; a large internal acoustic window 6.0m wide x 1.0m wide and decorative internal linings.
The FT produces around 200 pieces of video a month to run online and also uses video supplied through a content sharing agreement with business news broadcaster CNBC.
At the studio's official opening, speaking about the new studio FT editor Lionel Barber said: “This is going to move us from four-star to five-star in terms of quality.”
Barber said that the FT’s video operation is now a profitable part of the business. He added that the new studio, with its eye-catching City of London backdrop, would be rented out to other broadcasters to provide another revenue stream.
