The ABC’s Of School Noise Control – Minnesota Schools Use IAC Sound Enclosures

Bronx, NY (December 11, 2007) -- Schools in Fridley, Minnesota are utilizing IAC America’s FS/S Noishield® Barrier Panels to quiet and control chiller noise.

The ground level enclosures for several schools within the district were three sided and approximately six panels high using both 2’-0” (609.6 mm) high and 1’-6” (457 mm) high panels, 5 inches (127 mm) thick and absorptive on one side.

Each site was custom-configured based on the unique equipment layout and included foundation and structural support steel design. Each barrier system was designed with a single and/or double leaf Noise-Lock® Sound Control access door for maintenance. In the event of major equipment failure, the panels are removable for easy access to undertake repairs.

IAC America, with the help of O’Neill Engineered Systems, coordinated the communications between the school district, the schools themselves and the installation services. IAC America undertook the design, manufacturing and shipping and individual packaging, and all in sequence in order to expedite the completion schedule.

Our thanks go to IAC America’s Architectural/Access Systems teams and IAC technical representative, Chris Depies of O'Neill Engineered Systems, for their combined effort in completing this successful project.
