PG&E can’t get enough of IAC America’s Noishield FS/S Barrier Systems
Bronx, NY (November 6) --IAC has completed the supply and installation of another FS/S Noishield barrier system for Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) – this time in Gustine California. The source of the noise complaint, were two large transformers approx. 45’ and 70’ from the property line.
The closest resident was within 15’ of the property line adjacent to the transformers. IAC provided complete turnkey services including design, engineering, foundations, structural supporting steel, acoustic panels and installation in order to address the low frequency noise generated from the transformers that exceeded the local noise ordinance.
PG&E presented the IAC Architectural team an additional challenge: to control the run-off rain water from escaping in to the adjacent properties prior to being filtered into the on site water treatment area. To this end, IAC designed the foundation with an integrated curb to be both structurally sound and environmentally compliant.
The IAC Architectural team consisted of the following:
• IAC Acoustic Treatments – design, engineering, project management, fabrication and coordination
• West General – IAC sales representative
• Dale Christian Engineering – design/engineering review, CAPE
• DC Construction – Foundations & curb work
• Easter Construction – installation of structural steel and IAC FS/S Noishield panels
This 12-foot high IAC FS/S Noishield for PG&E was designed to protect the community from unwanted sound; it also contained potentially contaminated water from adjacent properties and also acted as a security fence to keep out trespassers.
IAC FS/S barrier systems optimize sound transmission loss and sound transmission properties in a durable and aesthetically-pleasing wall system to be in harmony with the surroundings. According to the resident in the adjacent property; the IAC barrier wall has exceeded expectation with regard to the noise reduction.
