Plug ‘n’ Play Quiet Fan packages for global drinks manufacturer
Bronx, NY (November 22)--A bottling plant of one of the world’s largest suppliers of consumer products as opted for a Plug ‘n’ Play Quiet Fan package to reduce noise and increase the line capacity.
When the company had a noise control problem that was also restricting bottling throughput, they looked to their acoustical consultant for advice. Based on previous projects he had done in Europe with another part of the IAC group he recommended they contact IAC America.
Manufacturers throughout the western world are subject to burgeoning legislation to protect their workforces from ambient noise, and here the problem centered in the bottling process. Relatively lightweight empty containers speeding down a conveyor line on their way to being filled were being kept in place with a vacuum fan that was not only noisy but also undersized for the job. Unable to increase the fan size (and so capacity of the line) due to the additional noise it would generate, a noise solution was required.
To solve both the noise and the capacity problems, IAC provided two, turnkey ‘Plug ‘n’ Play’ Quiet Fan packages. The acoustic enclosure also acted as plenum, and was equipped with inlet and discharge silencers as well as air filters. Using NoiseLock V panels and a STC 61 triple-seal door, a sound pressure level of less than 68 dBA at 1 meter from the enclosure was achieved. In line with IAC’s guaranteed performance promise on all products, the packaged unit was pre-tested in IAC’s aero-acoustic laboratory and performance was further confirmed during field testing.
“The manufacturer uses this conveyor configuration in many other of its locations in the US and overseas,” said Dominic Nardi, Product Manager, “We are hopeful that this successful installation will result in many additional units world-wide.”
Thanks to the Industrial Team for a job well done!
